Meeting in Reggio Calabria (also in the vicinity of the city) directly at the accommodation (or at a place to be agreed). Departure by private car/minibus to Santa Trada. We will be right at the foot of the “Pilone dello Stretto” (Calabrian side) which, together with the Pilone di Torre Faro (Sicilian side), are called “The Guardians of the Strait”. Two large disused pylons of the power line that from 1955 to 1985 transported electricity to Sicily. From here you can admire a spectacular and unique panorama with a view of the Strait from above. After a short stop, continuation to Scilla, a mythical place where Homer identified the spot where a monster attacked ships, inspiring the legend of Scylla and Charybdis. Brief stop at the “Belvedere” to admire the view. Immediately after, the driver will leave you in Scilla near the seafront for a stop of about 3 hours for a free visit. You can take a walk to Marina Grande, the Castle, or the village of Chianalea, a neighborhood at water level that always seems about to be swallowed by the sea where 17th and 18th-century houses and palaces alternate with fishermen's cottages and overlook the beach, from which you enjoy a unique view. Appointment with the driver and return to the morning meeting place.
